The 1913 Strike Singers delighted the audience last night at their performance for the Keweenaw National Historical Park’s Fourth Thursday in History concert/lecture series.  Alice Margerum and The 1913 Singers performed songs and poems that were published in local newspapers during the 1913-1914 copper strike period. The “All the News That’s Fit to Sing” concert took place at the Calumet Art Center.  If you missed this concert please stay tuned.  Fall concert dates for the chorus are likely to take shape.  A special thanks to Joanne Thomas for reporting back to me on the concert and sending along the above photo.
